Summary
Jonesboro is looking to expand tornado siren coverage so more neighborhoods actually hear warnings when severe weather hits. If you live or work in a current coverage gap, this is a local safety upgrade worth tracking.

Impact analysis
The city will likely face upfront equipment and installation costs plus ongoing maintenance, though the source doesn’t say how it would pay for them.
Neighborhoods currently outside siren coverage—especially people outdoors or without other alert systems—would get earlier warning.
No groups negatively affected; the main tradeoff is public cost.
